In this review, I will be taking a close look at Get Paid Taking Pictures. This is a product created by Michael Davis and released in early 2014. It claims to allow you to make money online from simply uploading pictures to the internet.
This is a bold claim, especially when their promotional material claims that you can be making a full-time living from it.
How can it be that Get Paid Taking Pictures (I will refer to it as GPTP from now on) has the secret formula to instant success online, even if you have no photography background or creative eye whatsoever? Let’s take a look at the program and see if it can live up to its claims.
Note: If you'd like to take an actual course from a respected source that will teach you the basics of photography, help you improve your photography, and teach you how to start making money from your pictures, check out this course on Udemy: Photography Masterclass: Your Complete Guide to Photography (Aff). It's the most highly rated photography course on their network with a rating of 4.4/5.0 stars and has been taken by 140,000+ students. Also, it's cheaper than Get Paid Taking Pictures…so, it's just a better deal all around!

Simple And Easy To Use Website
The member’s area website that you will be given access to is simple and easy to use. As you can find all of the resources directly on the homepage, it is basically impossible to get lost or confused or not be able to find any particular section of the website.
Basic Photography Tips
There is a primary resource that gives you 10 basic tips to take great pictures with your smartphone. The advice given in the manual will help you to take higher quality photos if you follow them. However, they are very, very basic.
Income Theory Is Possible
In theory, it is possible to make money online by selling your photos. GPTP does provide you with the resources to make this happen and connects you with the proper websites to allow you to begin generating money from your photographs.
Unnecessary To Pay For This Product
Basically, what GPTP does is show you how to upload pictures to giant online picture databases. People then go to these databases and purchase them for use in their own material. The thing is, you don’t need to pay to do any of this! Also, it doesn't actually teach you how to improve your photography skills or teach you new skills that will help you create images that are desirable by potential purchasers.
Instead of buying this product, you can either go to the following site and start uploading your images to their marketplace for free: Dreamstime (aff) OR you can opt to take a course called “Photography Masterclass: Your Complete Guide to Photography” (Aff) that will actually improve your photographic skills, teach you how to take pictures that people want to buy, and teach you the basics of making money from the images you take. Not to mention, it comes from UDemy, which is one of the most trusted names on the internet when it comes to online courses.
Not As Easy As It Sounds
As I said before, making money online from your photos is indeed possible. However, it is definitely not as easy as GPTP makes it seem. If you want to actually make money you will have to be taking high-quality pictures of relevant content matter. For example, look at what Dreamstime (aff) prefers in their images:
Think about it, nobody is going to pay for a low resolution, poor quality picture. People don’t pay for bad pictures, they pay for nice, high-quality, professionally taken photos. If they want poor pictures they can go take them themselves.
Lack Of Photography Training
If you have no photography experience, then you will learn a few things. On the other hand, if you have even a basic level of photography knowledge and skills you will learn nothing new from the training within GPTP.
If you would like to greatly improve your photography skills, I would encourage you to check out some of the online photography courses over at UDemy.
Dishonest Promotional Material
In short: GPTP will not change your life and solve all of your problems!
The sales page and primary sales video that GPTP uses are jam-packed with all of the emotional hype that is very common in these types of products. Since they can’t win you over with the quality of their product, they must use these other techniques to suck you in.
You will be hit with multiple upsells within the members area and in your inbox. In fact, the entire top section of the members area home page is dedicated to selling you a website and will direct you to a completely different product.
Get Paid Taking Pictures is a very thin product. By this, I mean that there is not a lot of content nor materials. You will be able to get through everything in a couple hours, at the most.
There are three primary resources as well as four bonus materials, some of which you can read online and some of which you will need to download.
Get Paid Taking Pictures Manual
This is the guide in which GPTP shows you the strategy you must use to make money with your pictures. In short, it tells you that you must take high-quality pictures, sign up for image database websites, then upload your pictures into their databases for people to purchase. (Keep in mind, you can do all of this without spending any money).
10 Tips For Taking Better Pictures With Your Smartphone
The title of this piece of material is pretty self-explanatory. Basically, there are ten tips explaining the very basic tenants of photography and, specifically, how to apply them to taking photographs with your smartphone. They are applicable to traditional point and shoot cameras as well.
Remember, these are very basic tips. If you have any knowledge and experience at all in photography, this resource will be useless to you.
Sites To Upload Your Photos To
This is literally just a list of all of the sites that are willing to sell the photos you take. (See above list) Even though this is just a simple list, it is the meat of what you are paying for because this is where the income potential is. Don’t forget that a simple Google search for “places to sell my photos online” will bring up a majority of these sites for free.
Bonus 1: Secret Images List (The Most Profitable Pics)
This bonus is basically a tactic to make you believe you will be making thousands of dollars from each photo you take. It is showing you the most profitable images that have been uploaded through their system.
I wouldn’t be so sure the numbers are true to the image. Even if they are, notice how they are all really nice photos. They are super high quality, clear, the colors are perfect. These were most likely taken by professional photographers…not by amateurs on a smartphone.
Bonus 2: Hire Others To Do The Work For You
This method is teaching you the “secret” methods you can use to hire people cheaply and get them to do the work for you. Let’s be honest, these aren’t secrets. If you want to get people to do your work for you, you do it on websites like Fiverr.com, PeoplePerHour.com, and other similar websites.
Bonus 3: Smartphone Apps to Earn You Cash
This is a list of apps you can install on your phone that allow you to upload photos directly to the website listing your images for sale. Again, this isn’t anything special. I’m sure a simple Google search can find you the exact same apps.
Bonus 4: 111 Things to Photograph
In this list, you are given 111 common photography subjects. The idea is that these are the most in demand types of photographs. This might be pretty useful, but again, you can find the same thing for free.
Who Is Get Paid Taking Photos For?
This product is for complete photography beginners who are interested in selling their photos online, who have a little extra money to spend who are willing to pay for lists of websites they can easily find online.
This product is not for anyone who has any photography knowledge whatsoever; nor is it for anyone who knows how to do a proper Google search.
Training And Tools Overview
The training within GPTP is very basic and consists of the GPTP Manual and the List Of 10 Tips For Taking Pictures With Your Smartphone, which I have described previously. The training is very limited and is not going to get you far. The main thing you will learn is the process of taking a photo and then selling it online. Basically, check out this wikiHow tutorial and you will learn everything you would have learned with GPTP.
There is next to no support available within the members area. You can email Mr. Davis, but I wouldn’t expect a quick response, if any.
The price of GPTP starts out at a one-time payment of $69, but can be brought down to $34, then to $19, then to a $4.95 seven day trial after which you will pay an additional $14. This is for access to the GPTP members’ area.
Once you are in the members area you will encounter three more upsells; one for $77, one for $47, and one for $27.
In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone unless you are incredibly lazy and/or don’t know how to use any search engines. If that describes you then go ahead and purchase this product. You will learn a little bit about taking photos and selling them online for money.
If this doesn’t describe you then please open a new tab and find some free tutorials on how to do exactly what you’re looking for in terms of selling your photos.
A Better Alternative
If you have a serious desire to start making money from your images online, but don't know what you're doing, or feel like you still need to improve your skills a bit to get to the point where people would actually want to buy your images, you're in the right place. While I'm not a professional photography by any means, I do know how to find respected resources from respected businesses, and the Photography Masterclass (Aff) from UDemy is just that.
It's the most popular photography class on UDemy, which is a hugely popular educational website and is used my millions of people to further their education on a variety of topics, including photography. This particular photography course will teach you the basics of photography all the way up to some advanced techniques as well as how to begin earning money from the amazing pictures you'll be taking by the end of the course.
On top of all of those great things, this course is only $30…which is, in fact, cheaper than Get Paid Taking Pictures! If this sounds like something you may be interested in, I'd encourage you to check it out for yourself now.
