Hello! My name is Dustin Garness and I am going to show you how you can easily sell your jewelry online in three steps!
Let’s be real, I don’t really know much about jewelry. I don’t know how to make it, buy it, repair it, etc. BUT I do know how to sell it and that is what you’re here for!
I have built a few successful eCommerce websites for previous clients that are still up and running and bringing in new sales daily! Let's get started…but first:
Why would you want to sell your jewelry online vs in a real, brick-and-mortar store?
Selling your jewelry online is easier, cheaper, and gives you far greater exposure!
Think about this. If you wanted to sell your jewelry in a store you would either need to open up your own shop, or come up with some sort of agreement with an existing shop owner. Both of these would require contracts, negotiations, profit-sharing, additional fees, down payments and who knows what else.
In terms of exposure, let’s think about this. If you were selling your jewelry in a storefront shop you may reach a few thousand potential customers a day…if you’re lucky and in a high traffic area. If you have an online shop, you will literally have access to hundreds of millions of targeted and relevant customers who are actively looking for your jewelry!
Now you’re probably thinking to yourself: this all sounds good an easy Dustin, but I don’t know anything about selling jewelry on the internet, building a website, getting traffic etc., so how in the h*** can I do this myself?
The truth is, it is actually much easier than you think! I will now show you how to start selling your jewelry online in three simple steps! (The same steps I took when I started the first of my online businesses.)
Three Steps To Successfully Selling Your Jewelry Online
Step One: You Need A Space To Sell Your Jewelry Online (Website)
Having your own website is not only for selling your jewelry, but for all the other aspects of running a successful business: engaging customers, answering questions, talking about jewelry, sharing ideas, building your brand, and on and on.
Obviously, the main purpose of having a website is to actually sell your jewelry online and make some money for your hard work! This is easier than ever and, believe it or not, you can have your first website up and running for FREE in less than 10 minutes over at SiteRubix.com.
Are you ready to get your site started now? If so, using SiteRubix for your website will also give you access to a wealth of resources at Wealthy Affiliate. Here you will be able to find training and support to to aid you in promoting your online jewelry business.
You can start building your website now by seeing if your desired domain name is available by entering it in the tool below.
Also, you can head over to siterubix.com directly to get started on your free website.
Step Two: Direct Customers To Your Store (Driving Traffic)
Just as with a brick-and-mortar store, if you don’t have any customers coming into your store, you won’t be selling any jewelry. If you’re not selling jewelry, you’re not making any money. If you’re not making money, your business is failing. We don't want that now do we?
Actually, as I mentioned before, your potential online customer base is HUGE. There are over 2 BILLION people using the internet daily. Now, they’re not all looking for jewelry, but out of all of them there are probably tens of millions of people who are! This is such a huge market that a brick-and-mortar store simply can’t compare.
How do we get customers who are looking to buy jewelry into your online store? You could do some Pay Per Click advertising (PPC), some Search Engine Optimization (SEO), or maybe even begin building an email list. The great thing is, if you completed step number one and created a site with SiteRubix, you’ve already gained access to the best training ground in the internet where you can learn to do everything I just mentioned!
If you haven’t, or already have your own website, you can still sign up for a free starter membership over at Wealthy Affiliate!
Step Three: Keep Developing Your Online Jewelry Business (Continued Training And Support)
Let’s be real for a minute. Everything I have mentioned seems fine-and-dandy, but what happens when you have a question? Who is going to answer it for you? How are you going to determine the best solution? How are you going to be continually improving your online jewelry shop?
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a community of 1000s of individuals, who are all experts in one aspect of online marketing or another, to be available 24/7 to answer any questions you might have?
This may sound too good to be true…but it’s not. Over at Wealthy Affiliate there exists a community such as this, made up of people just like you who are building their very own successful online businesses (me included), and who are all willing to work together to achieve success for everyone involved!
In fact, you can check out my very own profile within Wealthy Affiliate! And Your Guide To Jewelry Selling Success
Hi Dustin, just like to say thanks for the great guide to selling jewelry online. It`s being very helpful 🙂
Hey Margaret!
I’m glad you found this post helpful! That’s what I’m here for 🙂
If you have any other questions about anything let me know!

Hi, Dustin
Fantastic post on Jewelry and nice pun in the title too 😛
I’m sure there are many people out there who are trying to shift a ton of jewelry (used and new) and I suspect more women than men, lol. Here in the UK, people visit “Cash For Gold” shops to cash in their jewelry but I can’t imagine them getting much in return for it.
The absolute best way for people wanting to sell used jewelry or even start a new jewelry business is to follow your recommendation of building a website and learning how to drive potential customers to it.
Today, people must have a website if they are to succeed!
Neil
Hey Neil!
It’s great to see you back! Speaking of “Cash for Gold” shops, I’ve been in South Africa for the last few months and in every commercial area there are people standing on the corners wearing “Cash for Gold” signs. It’s really kind of weird.
Anyways, like you said, the best way to sell jewelry, or anything for that matter, online is to have your own eCommerce website/store!
Dustin
Hi Dustin, I love this post, very insightful. I was wondering, are there any precautions I can take to avoid being scammed if I get in to selling jewelery online?
Hey Vanessa!
You’re right, you definitely want to be alert when you start researching resources to help you get started online.
However, there are a few things you should be on alert for and questions you should ask yourself when determining if an offer is a scam or not:
1. Does it feel like a scam?
2. Do they promise quick riches?
3. Do they tell you what you are getting?
4. Do They Require Payment Before Letting You See/Try Their Product?
5. Do They Require Instant Action?
If you would like a further explanation into each of these questions please refer to my previous post: How To Determine If An Online Offer Is Legit – 4 Simple Tests
I hope this gives you a better idea of what to look for Vanessa! If you have any further questions, or would like me to take a look at any product you are interested in, please don’t hesitate to let me know!
Dustin
Yeah Dustin, you are spot on here. Once you know the formula for online sales, you can take ANY product and sell it. It’s amazing the potential customer base that exists when you know how to drive traffic to your own website. Sites like Etsy are popular for selling things like jewelry or art, but unless you have a massive Etsy following, you’re going to have a really hard time sustaining sales.
I think another option for people looking to sell things like jewelry (or art, crafts, etc) here is to create a blog/website to gain traffic and followers, and then redirect that traffic to their Etsy shop. That way you’re exposing your products to a wider range of people (and very targeted people) without the hassle of dealing with the sales on your OWN website (which is an additional expense in and of itself).
Hello Dustin. I love the way you put it, that’s exactly right. Do you have a hobby, a business or a thought you want to express to the world? Then you offer the way to do it and even earn from it. I know out of experience this system you are providing, from Wealthy Affiliates, works because my own website is developed from there!
Greetings,
Loes
Thank you Loes. WA is a really great resource and if you are willing to invest time and energy into getting your online business set up, then you really can find success with your website!
Thanks again for your comments and I hope to see you around again!

Hi Dustin, I am interested in selling a product of my interest (not jewelry) online but I want to target my sales in the region where I am living at the moment. How do I go about doing that?
Thanks!
Hey Cathy. This is a great question.
There are a few ways you can target specific geographic regions. First of all, remember that, for the most part, when you have a website it is accessible to the entire internet. So, in effect anybody can find it. However, you can advertise your website to people only living in certain areas.
For example, if you want to do Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising you can use BingAds or Google Adwords. Both of these services allow you to specify exactly where you want your ads to show up. If you have a business in San Francisco, you can tell BingAds and Adwords to only show ads to people in or near San Francisco.
Also, if you want to go the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) route, you can target keywords that are only relevant to your geographic area. That way, if someone searches for “I need a plumber in San Francisco” your San Francisco plumbers sight could show up.
Finally, I would encourage you to check out the “Local Marketing” classroom over at Wealthy Affiliate. There is a lot more information there that will probably answer all of your questions.
Thanks again for the question Cathy! Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
