Well, it’s almost the end of May, so I figure it’s time for my income report for March and April! These two months were great months for me personally, but also very difficult. Because of everything going on, my sites have had to take a back seat (more about this at the end of this post)… However, the great thing about this business is once your site is established, it will still continue to work for you passively, even if you don’t touch it. This will be very evident by what follows in this report.
Since I know what you really want to see is how much money I've made, I'm going to Change the order of my reports. From now on I will put all of the money stuff first, followed by my traffic reports, everything else website related, my goals for the next two months, and finally my personal notes. (You better make sure you read to the end to see pics of my beautiful bride!)
Let's get started!
In terms of profit, this was my best period yet with a profit of about $240. Considering I didn't spend a single minute working on my site in April, I think this is amazing!
The main reason my profit was higher, despite lower total revenue, is because I didn't purchase anything other than what was absolutely needed to keep the site up and running, including my membership at Wealthy Affiliate.
This means my business expenses for a two-month period are only $113.80! Realistically, this could remain my baseline for a long time… Even when I'm making thousands of dollars a month. What other profitable businesses could have that low of expenses month after month? Not many that I can think of.
Expenses = $113.80
Income (New Conversions/Revenue) = 157/$353.60
(New Conversions/Conversions Over Time/New Revenue/Revenue Over Time)
Wealthy Affiliate: 31/140/$277.00/$678.5
Elegant Themes: 0/0/$0.00/$0.00
Paid Viewpoint: 94/473/$25.53/$62.71
Pretty Link Pro: 0/0/$0.00/$0.00
Despite a bit lower traffic than last period, I still continued to get lots of new referrals from a variety of sources.
My biggest source of income was Wealthy Affiliate University. I'm glad to know my recommendations have out those people in an honest training ground where they are learning how to make money from their own websites. I had one yearly subscription ($179), five recurring monthly subscriptions ($22.50 each), and a few other smaller commissions.
I also have my first premium member of the Jaaxy Keyword Tool. This will pay $8.00 a month for the duration of their membership.
Paidviewpoint.com and Dreamstime have started to bring in legitimate revenue as well. They both don't earn a lot per referral, but I have a lot of referrals and they're starting to add up to some nice payouts.
I haven't had a new sale from Clickbank or MyThemeShop for quite some time. That kinda stinks because they payout really high commissions… We're talking like 50-75% depending on the product.
Totals Over Time = -$227.18
Total Profit: $227.18
I'm about to my break even point! I was hoping to be in the positives for this report, but hopefully I will be on the next one in two months.
Hourly Rate: $13.60/hr
For the last two months, if I take my total revenue ($353.60) divided by the hours I spent working on my site (~26), it comes to $13.60 an hour!
This is incredible to me! I wasn't earning that much an hour until I was 26 and working at my current job… I still have a couple dollars an hour to go to catch up, but it will happen soon!
Overall, my traffic decreased when compared to my last update. This is expected and proof that you need to consistently add content to your site or your traffic will decrease.

% New Visitors: 84.42% (-0.54)
Average Session Duration: 1:47 (-0:20)
I got a lot more direct and referral traffic, but most of the referral is not legitimate traffic. It's actually spam bots trying to get me to click to their URL.
I've been battling to filter all of this traffic out, but once I set up a filter for one, it starts coming from a different domain. I guess I don't really know any other way to filter it all. If any of you have any ideas, please share them in the comments below.

This review had been my number one traffic generator for many months now. It's where most of my paidviewpoint.com referrals come from. So, you could say this post made me $25 in the last two months.
Keep in mind, this review took me a few hours almost a year ago. Those few hours made me $25 just the last two months, and will continue to do so for years to come. This means those few hours become increasingly valuable as time goes on!

This review has been the second best traffic generator for quite some time as well. It's where all of my Dreamstime and Fotolia referrals come from. It's not making as much as the one above, but it has made me $10 so far! Every little bit counts.
% Total Traffic: 17.83% (-0.94%)

I don't have anything too insightful to say about this one… So, read on.

Social Media Profiles
All of my social media profiles grew by a few followers, but nothing too much. This is alright since my social media engagement has been non-existent.
My email list grew about 25% to 50 total subscribers, which I'm excited about! I've been working, and will be working, very diligently on increasing my subscribers. I will be producing a free resource to encourage sign ups, among other things. Speaking of which… Sign up here to follow along:

What Did I Do?
This is the part where I tell you what I've been up to, what content I've written, changes I've made, ideas I've implemented, etc. I'll start with the new content I produced.
I only produced three new pieces of content. The first two were related to an increasingly popular site called Swagbucks; one was an actual review, and the other was an honest interview with a family friend who has been using the site for a few years.
The third piece of content was the first part of a series of posts only accessible by joining my email list walking you through the steps to build a simple, but profitable niche website. I'm also creating my first smaller niche site as I go along, just so I can prove it works.
Another new aspect of Kirby's Marketing that I began implementing is the concept of interview posts. When possible I am going to try to contact the owner/creator of any product I am reviewing and have them answer some questions about their product and themselves.
These will serve two purposes.
- Will make my reviews more credible and trustworthy. It will show I'm not just pumping out reviews, but am actually putting effort I to them and teaching out to their owners so I can provide multiple perspectives on the product.
- They will basically give me free quality content for my website. I send them the questions, they write the responses, I post them. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
I think most of the creators will be open to the idea, assuming they have a quality product and aren't trying to take advantage of people. It will take an hour at most to answer the questions and will probably lead to more sales, and more revenue for both of us!
It's my goal to not change anything they say about their product, even if I don't necessarily agree. If my readers are given both perspectives, the interview and my honest review, they can shower for themselves who they want to believe.
I will also be putting a disclaimer at the beginning of each interview saying I haven't altered their responses at all (except for spelling and grammar mistakes) and will leave it up to the reader to decide what they think.
Goals For March/April 2015
Unfortunately, I didn't meet many of my goals, which is to be expected since I wasn't able to spend any time working in April. Anyways, it's alright. This is a process and takes time and some things in life are just much more important than websites and making money.

If you've been following me for long, you know that I've been engaged to a South African woman for a while now and we'd been working on getting her here to the US on a K-1 Fiancé Visa.
Well, thanks to the work of our state Senator's office, she got here without a hitch and more than twice as quickly as she should have! It usually takes 6+ months and she got here in 2.5 months.
Once she got here we were married a week and a half later! Have you ever planned a wedding in a week and a half? We pulled it off though and had a beautiful little ceremony with our closest friends and family.
The Beginning Of The End
Needless to say, I'm glad she got here when she did so my mom could see us get married. (Her health is how we were able to get the visa process expedited)
I don't have a lot to say here, but my mom's 4 year battle with breast cancer is nearing it's end. It's hard to watch her body fail, but I'm at peace with it because I know she puts her faith in Jesus and his saving grace. At this point, I'm ready for her to go and be with him and out of the painful body she is currently in.
That's enough about this for now, but if you'd like to read an amazing story of miracles, strength, faithfulness, and God's provision, please have a look at her full story on her Caring Bridge site here.
That's All For Now!
Well, that's about all I got for this report! I hope you found everything here interesting and helpful to what you are doing on your own site/s. If you haven't started your own online business yet, I would highly encourage you to check out the best place to learn everything you need to know to get started.
