Summary
Product Name: Spy Visit
Overall Rank: 8.6/10
Price: Free Trial + $12, $27, $47, or $97/Month
Owners: Ace Khor
Spy Visit is an analytics software that allows you to essentially “spy” on your visitors in multiple ways. You can generate heat maps showing where your visitors are clicking, where their eyes are looking, and how far down your pages they are scrolling. You are also able to record every visitor in real time and watch their visit later. In addition, there are other interesting statistics available, but the ones I mentioned are the most valuable.
Overall, Spy Visit has the potential to be an excellent resource for anyone looking to dig further into their visitors' behavior and actions while they are on their website. This is a product that I would recommend to all of my readers. If you would like to check out their sales page, you can do so here (Aff).
In-Depth Review
Now it's time to get into the nitty gritty of this review. I'll start by talking about what I like and don't like. Then I'll give a short product overview, talk about who should consider purchasing this product, the customer support provided, and pricing schemes available. I'll finish up with my final opinion followed by an in-depth product overview showing you everything that comes with a Spy Visit subscription (Aff).
What I Like About Spy Visit
Really Easy To Set Up/Install
Getting Spy Visit installed on my WordPress website was a breeze. All it takes is copying a small section of code from your membership page on their website in the header or footer code of your own website. This is made even easier if you are using a theme or plugin that makes entering code into these locations easier.
Teaches You Important Things About Your Traffic
The information that you will be able to gather about your visitors is amazing and has the potential to be extremely transformative in how you design your site. I know for me personally, I have a much better idea where people are looking, what they are clicking on, and how far down they are scrolling. I know where I need to highlight aspects of my website or move important things around to points where people are actually looking.
Easy To Understand Data Visually
The method used for relaying this information is through “heat maps”. This is an extremely effective method to visually translate this content in an easy to understand way. The heat maps you can create using this software are heat maps for clicks, eye-tracking, and scrolling.
Simple Interface
The actual website is very simple and easy to use. It's not the most visually attractive site ever and there are no frills, but that is perfectly fine. They know their users are there for the information, not for a pretty interface. It works and gets you the information you need…and nothing more.
Tracks Both Mobile And Desktop Data
When I first started using Spy Visit (Aff) I wasn't sure how exactly they would make heat maps work for visitors on your site on mobile devices…but they made it work to reflect the responsiveness of your site as well! This is great since an ever-growing amount of web traffic is mobile, so you wouldn't want to miss out on that important data.
Visitor Recordings
One of my favorite aspects of Spy Visit is the fact that I can watch my visitors on my site as if I were standing right behind them! I can't do this live, but every visit is recorded in video format to watch later. It's super interesting to see just how people are scrolling past some parts but slowing down to read others, spending time reading graphs or looking at pictures, choosing which links to click on, etc.
Supports Multiple Content Management Systems
Spy Visit can integrate with just about every content management system available. Whether you are using WordPress, Drupal, Prestashop, Shopify, BIG Commerce, Magento, ExpressionEngine, or Joomla, you don't need to worry because it will work for you!
Free Trial And 30-Day Money Back Guarantee
In my opinion, if a product offers a free trial of its full product, you immediately know it is a good product. Think about it, many sketchy products don't want you to try it until they already have your money.
Only if you are confident your product can sell itself will you let people try it out free. The same goes for the 30-day money back guarantee. You only offer that if you're confident people are not going to want their money back!
Help Along the Way (Question Marks)
There are a few places within the website where I wasn't sure exactly what something meant, but luckily, there are little information boxes for every aspect and option on the site. This really helps to clarify exactly what every button or option does.
Great Control of Data
There is nothing more frustrating than having a bunch of data at your fingertips and not being able to organize or filter it effectively. With Spy Visit (Aff) you are able to easily organize the data they have collected regarding your visitors. You are able to determine exactly what type of data you want to collect from where and from whom. You can delete any data from any time. You can also select exactly which data and from what time frame you would like to view and analyze it. In short, you have great control of all your data collection and management!
What I Don't Like
No Mobile App
It's always a little frustrating these days when the products you are using don't have mobile apps. Since there is no mobile app, I either have to wait until I'm on my home computer to view my data, or struggle to view it on my small smartphone screen.
Not A Lot Of Training Tutorials
There is only one training tutorial and it's not really that great. It's more of an overview of the product rather than a tutorial teaching you how to use it and all of its features effectively.
Hard To Find Correct Pages For Data
The one issue I have had with how you select the data you want to generate heat maps from is that there is no easy way to select the pages you want to analyze other than scrolling through a really long list of all of the pages that have been visited on your site. There is no way to sort them alphabetically to make this task easier.
May Only Work In Internet Explorer
Although I had no problem using this resource in my Chrome browser, there are notices throughout the member's section indicating that if you are having problems viewing the product you may need to switch your browser to Internet Explorer.
I don't know about you, but Internet Explorer is always my last resort…so I would hate to have to constantly be switching back to Internet Explorer simply for using this product.
Eye-Tracking Accuracy?
As much as they try to make the case for it, I'm not convinced that what they are considering “eye-tracking” is actually eye-tracking. I think a more accurate assessment this data would be “mouse tracking” since it is tracking the mice of your visitors rather than their eyes. Yes, our eyes usually follow our mice around the screen, but not always. Because of this, I'm still a little skeptical as to the accuracy and helpfulness of the eye-tracking feature.
Product Overview
So, you may be wondering what exactly you get when you purchase Spy Visit (Aff)…I'm going to tell you the basics now, and go into a lot more detail in the last section of this review.
In short, when you buy Spy Visit you will create an account for their website. On their website, you will receive a piece of code to place on your website. Once you have done this, all you need to do is wait for some traffic to visit. After a while, you will be able to create heat maps, view popular pages, and watch video recordings of guest visits. It really is a pretty simple product. Simple, yet effective.
Who Should Buy Spy Visit
If you own and operate your own personal website and/or the websites of others and you would like to analyze your visitors' clicks, actions, and see visually how they are interacting with your website, then you should start using Spy Visit (Aff)! As the name implies, this product allows you to essentially spy on your visitors!
Customer Support
From personal experience, the customer support you can expect to receive from the Spy Visit team is excellent. I sent them an inquiry late one night about a week ago and had a helpful response within half an hour to my questions. I must also point out that I sent this email at about 11:30 pm Central Time…so they really make an effort to get back to you as soon as possible regardless of the time of day.
Price
After the free seven-day trial, Spy Visit will cost you anywhere between $12-$97/month depending on how many websites you have, how much traffic you are getting, and how many megabytes of storage you would like to have access to.
Final Verdict
My final verdict regarding Spy Visit is that it is an excellent resource that has the potential to dramatically aid anyone who owns/operates a website and is looking to analyze their visitors' engagement and also those trying to find simple ways to improve the conversion rates of their websites.

In-Depth Product Review
All of the data that Spy Visit collects is aggregated and displayed through their online platform. For this reason, I will structure this entire section based on the menu structure of the website. I'll walk through each page and all that it offers. Let's dig in!
Homepage
From the homepage of the website, you are able to see all of your projects, their basic statistics, and the code you need to insert into your website. I only have one project right now, but if you have multiple websites you would see all of them and their basic statistics on this page.
Now we'll be looking at the statistics and reports created for two weeks' worth of traffic on this website (Kirbysmarketing.com).

Project Dashboard
Now we're here at the main page for each individual project (website) you have the tracking code installed on. On this page, you are able to see the overall statistics (total visitors, tracking pages, total sessions) of the website, as well as a graph of the last 20 days of activity (sessions & time), and a regional map showing where your traffic is coming from. You are also able to copy the tracking code you will need to install on your website.
This page gives you a nice quick overview of what's going on with your website.

User Sessions
Now we're moving down the menu to the “User Sessions” page. This shows you every unique user that was on your site as well as a variety of statistics about their visit. You are able to see the date and time of the visit, the user's IP address, the country of origin of the visit, which operating system and browser they were using, the referrer that sent them to your site, as well as the overall length of their visit.
On top of all of this, each of the visits is recorded and this is where you can view the real-time replay of each and every visitor!

Heat Maps
The heat map section is where you get all of the meaty information that Spy Visit offers to you! There are multiple options from which you can choose to create the heat map of your choice, but it won't take long to work through them all.
- You must decide which type of heat map you'd like to generate (clicks, eye-tracking, or scroll).
- You must choose the URLs you would like to generate heat maps for from the list of available heat maps (they're only available from the URLs that have been visited).
- You select the data source, aka timeframe, from which you want the data to be drawn. They have some default options available, but you are also able to select custom date ranges as well.
- You must determine whether you want the page layout to be left aligned, centered, or right aligned.
- Lastly, all you need to do is click on “Generate Heat Map”, wait a couple seconds, and then you'll have your heat maps.
Here are the examples of each type of map from my In-Depth Wealthy Affiliate Review:

Popular Pages
The next page down the menu is the “Popular Pages” page. As you can imagine, this is where you can find some statistics regarding which pages on your website are the most popular. This information is displayed by means of a pie chart of your ten most popular pages and a bar graph of your fifty most popular pages.

Manage Data
This page is where, you guessed it, you can manage your data! Remember, the level of subscription to Spy Visit you have purchased determines how much data you are able to store on their servers. Therefore, it will eventually become necessary for you to delete some of this information so you have enough space open to record your new visits.
On this page, you are able to see exactly how much data you are using as well as delete specific types of information. If you are needing to open up some space on your server, you are able to choose which type of date and from which date range you would like to delete it. This is a nice feature because it puts you in control of which data will be deleted and it won't be done randomly.

Settings
The final useful page within Spy Visit is the settings page. In case you're wondering, this is where you can adjust all of the settings regarding your utilization of Spy Visit's resources and the data you are collecting and tracking from your visitors.
You are able to choose whether or not you want your traffic to be recorded, set the specific pages you'd like your traffic's actions to be recorded on, choose to ignore query strings, block specific IP addresses from being tracked (would be a good idea to block your own IP address right away), choose your time zone, decide whether or not you'd like to record the mouse movements and page scroll of your visitors, and set your send intervals and session delays.

Help Videos And Support Pages
These are the last two pages within the Spy Visit platform; however, they are both the exact same page with one “sort of” walkthrough tutorial of the Spy Visit website and resources. However, nothing on these two pages is actually very helpful.
